Time to fill that belly up people!!!!!!
When it comes to looking for a place to eat in NY City, you really can never go too far to find one. There are restaurants all over the place: big, small, classy, fancy, for high/low budgets, fats-foods, skis kabob stands…;countless places to find something to eat. But when you really want to go for one of the best, the only place to go to is at 764 Amsterdam Ave., New York, NY 10025 between 97th and 98th Sts. Or simply, go to El Malecon Restaurant.
I went to this place one day and since then, I can never get tired of it. There’s just so many varieties of delicacies to choose from. The plates do not come with small quantities of food but with gigantic portions that could feed a third-world country. Well, surely I’m exaggerating on this last note but in complete honesty, they do serve a lot. What El Malecon is the most famous for though is its bronze-skinned chickens spinning on spits showing at its windows. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, do delivery and take out! What more could anyone else want?
Named Named for Havana’s waterfront promenade, El Malecon is always filled with people coming to look for very enexpensive but delicious dishes. It serves Caribbean dishes and a lot of people admire it for that. A little bit of every country. Must-haves on the menu is the “lambi” with fried plantains. I guarantee, you would melt under the spicy taste of it. All dishes should be accompanied by yellow rice, soupy black or kidney beans, and sweet fried plantains.
And I did not even get to the beverages yet! At El Malecon, even though they only serve wine and beer, it still goes with the taste of the food. It’s always good to enjoy some fried chicken with a beer or some delicious pink fish with some fresh wine.
What makes this restaurant different than most of other restaurants in the city is the food that they serve. It’s one of the few places where you can go to get anything, from any country, culture from the Caribbean.
Check it out! You really will not regret it!
