Time to fill that belly up people!!!!!!

April 6, 2008 at 6:32 pm (Uncategorized)

When it comes to looking for a place to eat in NY City, you really can never go too far to find one. There are restaurants all over the place: big, small, classy, fancy, for high/low budgets, fats-foods, skis kabob stands…;countless places to find something to eat. But when you really want to go for one of the best, the only place to go to is at 764 Amsterdam Ave., New York, NY 10025 between 97th and 98th Sts. Or simply, go to El Malecon Restaurant.

I went to this place one day and since then, I can never get tired of it. There’s just so many varieties of delicacies to choose from. The plates do not come with small quantities of food but with gigantic portions that could feed a third-world country. Well, surely I’m exaggerating on this last note but in complete honesty, they do serve a lot. What El Malecon is the most famous for though is its bronze-skinned chickens spinning on spits showing at its windows. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, do delivery and take out! What more could anyone else want?

Named Named for Havana’s waterfront promenade, El Malecon is always filled with people coming to look for very enexpensive but delicious dishes. It serves Caribbean dishes and a lot of people admire it for that. A little bit of every country. Must-haves on the menu is the “lambi” with fried plantains. I guarantee, you would melt under the spicy taste of it. All dishes should be accompanied by yellow rice, soupy black or kidney beans, and sweet fried plantains.

And I did not even get to the beverages yet! At El Malecon, even though they only serve wine and beer, it still goes with the taste of the food. It’s always good to enjoy some fried chicken with a beer or some delicious pink fish with some fresh wine.

What makes this restaurant different than most of other restaurants in the city is the food that they serve. It’s one of the few places where you can go to get anything, from any country, culture from the Caribbean.

Check it out! You really will not regret it!

It’s a blogging world!!!!

March 24, 2008 at 8:26 pm (Uncategorized)

New blogs are created on the internet every day. Some bloggers write once in a while when others religiously update their blogs. Blogging is an experiment that helps people express in writing whatever it is that they do not feel like saying out loud.

There aren’t particular topics written about in blogs, just random ordinary subjects. Blogging can be pretty fun but sometimes for people like me, it is not always interesting. You have to know how to keep in entertaining so people that come accross it want to read more and know more of what it is that you have to say. It is like communicating to people that you’ve never met and probably never will.

It’s easier to just browse the internet and watch fun pictures and videos which is why not everybody enjoys blogging.

Writing about certain subjects requires time and passion so you can make your viewers eager to read your posts.

For those that post something every single day, well…great. It’s great to have something to talk about all the time but not always.

Blogs are all over the Internet but blogging is not my thing. Nope…not for moi…

It’s my life and I just don’t know what to do with it!

March 10, 2008 at 8:50 pm (Uncategorized)

I remember when I was about ten years old, I desperately wanted to be thirteen so I could be under the “teenagers” rank. I thought at the time that once you were a teenager, then it automatically meant that you were an adult. I thought that it opened doors and opportunites once you got to this age. These are the worthless things that were going through my little ten year old brain.

I remeber wanting to be a pediatricain once I grew up. But later on, every year, I wanted to be something different. I would watch movies and instantly see myself as an actress. I never took drama classes because I always thought I was not so good and that it would be a complete waste of time.

When American Idol hit the cultural scene, I immediately would think of switching carrers. I knew I could sing but for some reason, my fear of being rejected held me back to try out. I just thought that singing in front of many people would just be impossible since the only place I’ve really sang was my shower and few times, in front of my family.

And so, I gave up on my dreams of becoming a star and decided to go to college with hopes of becoming a doctor one day. I am not sure if this is really what I want, but for now, I want to give it a try.

Technology attack!!!

March 10, 2008 at 8:50 pm (Uncategorized)

Wherever you go nowadays, almost everything is maneuvered through technology. There is a revolution in the way we listen to music, communicate, travel and so forth. Many say that at this rate that technology is invading our lives, people will get lasier and let everything be done through a computer. Some even talk about the eminence of robots in the years yet to come. Ipods, cell-phones, computers, elevators made a big impact on how people live their lives nowadays since in early times, it surely was not like this at all.

Some technological gadgets are considered dangerous like the cell phone.  It’s been showed that driving whike talking on the phone can lead to serious accidents. It is true that the revolution of technology in this 21th century is pretty useful but every good thing comes with a bad side.

This article that I’m writing about talks about the dangers of driving while haveing a cell phone stuck to one’s ear but that at the same time, it is unevitable to use it.

Mu$Ic is in the AiR

March 10, 2008 at 4:19 pm (Uncategorized)

I’m a huge fan of music. I listen to musics of all sorts, genres and cultures. And so, when I stumbled across that youtube blog, I just HAD to write about it. Only reading the title caught my attention immediately: top 10 youtube videos of all time!

I was very curious to know what these videos were, the artists and who came after or before who on the list.

Youtube is a site where all sorts of videos are posted: from just entertainement to documentaries. For a night of good life or just to get informed on what’s going on aroud the world, youtube is definitely the place to be.

As for this top 10 videos list, I was not really satisfied of the outcome because one of my most favorite songs: “don’t matter”, came in last and some other video that I absolutely do not like came in first! It’s just unfair. But anyways, I’m still a huge fan of youtube and continue to browse the network religiously on a daily basis.
